Dr Alan Cameron completed his PhD in chemistry at the University of Auckland in 2017, after which he worked as a Research Scientist at Douglas Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in the method development team (NPD). In 2018 Dr Cameron returned to the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Auckland as a Research Fellow working in the team of D/Prof Dame Margaret Brimble and A/Prof Paul Harris. In 2018 he was the recipient of a Lottery Health Research Fellowship and in 2020 was awarded a prestigious Marsden Fund Fast-Start grant. In 2022 he was promoted to Senior Research Fellow, also receiving funding from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. His primary research interests lay in chemical biology, advancing peptide synthesis, developing novel peptide modification approaches, and leveraging peptides to solve challenges in infectious disease and cancer through innovative approaches.
