Steve Peigneur

Steve Peigneur is a Postdoctoral researcher at the lab of Toxicology & Pharmacology at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Lab Techniques from the University Colleges Leuven-Limburg (UCLL). In 2019, he obtained his PhD in Biochemistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerias in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Fellow from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO Vlaanderen). He has published over 190 articles in
peer-reviewed journals and he has an h-index of 31. His research in the field of drug discovery and development mainly focusses on the characterisation of novel ligands for ion channels and receptors, starting from natural sources such as venomous animals and poisonous plants.
