Yuki Goto obtained his M.S. in bioorganic chemistry under the guidance of Prof. K. Nakatani and Prof. I. Saito at Kyoto University in 2005. He then joined the group of Prof. H. Suga at the University of Tokyo and received his Ph.D. in the field of chemical biology in 2008. After a postdoctoral stay in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with Prof. W. A. van der Donk focusing biosynthesis of lantibiotics, he was appointed as an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo in 2009 and promoted to associate professor in 2016.
