Yao studied chemistry in China. After an internship with Prof. Yao Ye at Peking University in 2020, Yao went to King’s college London later 2020, where he is doing PhD in protein engineering and biosynthesis of natural products under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Barry and Dr Manuel Müller.
